Below is a complete list of Christ Episcopal Church’s Guilds & Organizations along with their mission statements. Interested in learning more about a guild or organization, please contact the church via email, phone or submit a contact form on our Contact Us page.

St. Ages Scott Guild

Following in the footsteps of the founders of this guild, who were instrumental in assisting with the building of our present sanctuary, we will assist with future building efforts in the second century of this church’s existence. This includes the construction of an educational wing which is an immediate goal. Additionally, we will continue to assist with future construction needs and with the maintenance of the church’s physical structures and its fabric.

All Saints’ Guild

We recognize all Saints, both the living and the dead. We do not believe that Saints are extraordinary people but are ordinary people who do extraordinary things. Therefore, as members of this guild, we will strive to do extraordinary things that will encourage others to lead saintly lives. We want to constantly hold before them their baptismal covenant – that is, the constant reaffirmation of the belief in God the Father, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and the belief in God the Holy Spirit. We will support all Saints through prayer and worship as the gospel is proclaimed.

Altar Guild

Preparation of the sanctuary for divine worship is the main mission of this guild. Each time a Mass is held in Christ Church, the altar is viewed as the focal point for people to continue their soul’s restoration to unity with God and each other in Christ Jesus. We will strive to assist the rector as he leads God’s people toward a viable Christian relationship through their service to others, and their understanding of God’s purpose for their personal life.

Cursillo

Cursillo is a movement of the church. Its purpose is to help those in the church understand their individual callings to be Christian Leaders. The leadership may be exercised in work situations, in the family and social life, in leisure activities, and within the Church environment. Leadership, in Cursillo, does not mean power over others, but influence on others; all of us need to be aware that we can exert a positive influence on those around us. The Order of the Daughters of the King

Daughters of the King are women and girls between the ages of seven and one hundred and seven who desire a closer walk with the Lord. We are Christian women, both lay and ordained, who are strengthened through a discipline of a Rule of Life, and supported through the companionship of our sisters. We are all at different stages of our Christian journey – some have just begun and some have been on this path for a long time. But no matter where we are on our sacred journeys, our primary goal is the same – to know Jesus Christ and to make Him known to others.

Episcopal Church Men

Our goal is to develop a sense of brotherhood among the men and boys of this parish. We will work closely with the priest, the vestry, and other guilds and organizations to enhance the various programs in the church. As a part of this parish family, we will work in a Christian atmosphere that is dedicated to restoring all people to unity with God and each other.

Episcopal Church Women

Our goal is to assist women in the Episcopal Church to carry on Christ’s work of reconciliation in the world and to take their place as leaders in all aspects of Church life. Further we want to get all of the women in this parish active in the affairs of the ECW, the church, and the community.

Episcopal Youth Council

Our Episcopal Youth Council (EYE) provides opportunities for spiritual growth, fun and lots of fellowship for our youth through special programs, church events, and activities within our local congregation, deaneries, the diocese and community churches. All youth 10 yrs to 18 yrs are invited to join our council as we walk in faith.

Saint Cecilias’ Guild

Saint Cecilia is the patron saint of musicians and is represented as playing a musical instrument. Our mission is to promote the ministry of music in this church and in the community realizing how music can connect people, we will ensure that worshippers continue to enjoy choral, congregational singing, and instrumental music. We will support all performing groups in the church and in the community. Further, we support the vestry in the maintenance of the musical instruments of this church.

Saint Margarets’ Guild

This Guild, named for Margaret of Scotland – the “queen of the poor,” is committed to justice for all. We are totally obligated to the giving of aid and comfort to the poor. While we are dedicating our service to the parishioners of this church, we will strive to provide assistance to anyone in the community. We will help to meet both the physical and spiritual needs of people. Believing strongly in the scripture, “Blessed are the poor in spirit for they shall see God,” we will work to restore all people to unity with God and each other.

Saint Paul’s Guild

In the spirit of our patron saint, the Apostle Paul, our mission is to take the Good News to all who will hear it. Since Christ Episcopal Church is in its second century, our guild, like our founders will seek to restore all people to unity with God and each other in Christ. We will be in the forefront of bringing non-believers into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, our Savior.

Saint Theresa’s Guild

“Suffer little children to come unto me” personifies the mission of this guild. Our goal is to assist with the spiritual, physical, and educational nurturing of all children in general and those in Christ Episcopal Church in particular. We will support all youth programs developed by other organizations within the parish and initiate our own activities which will help ensure a viable church in the Second Century of Christ Church’s life.

Ushers’ Guild

Our duty is to welcome persons to the Mass and assist with orderly worship. The scripture, Psalm 84:11, “I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the ungodly,” helps us to dedicate ourselves to greet our parishioners and visitors in a cordial and enthusiastic manner. We realize that we are worshiping God as we perform our duties and hope that what we do will help to restore all people to unity with God and each other.

Virtuous Liturgical Dance Ministry

The purpose of this Liturgical Dance & Mime Ministry is to engage the youth of our church and extended church family in dance as it relates to various dance movements and expressions in liturgical dance and miming all while ministering and worshipping God.

Young Episcopal Stewards

The YES group’s goal is to help bridge the gap between young children, teens and young adults with the adult parishioners in this church. We will encourage their involvement in the activities of the parish. We recognize the need to assist young people with their spiritual growth. Therefore, as they become more knowledgeable about the Christian way of life, they will become more committed to the “work of the church” and to the restoration of all people to unity with God and each other.
